Der Räuber Und Der Prinz - Der Elektrischer Reiter - (Amontillado)

A droning 100 bpm trancey no-disco work out filled up with Haas-like whooping and helicopter noises as fizzing guitar licks play out over the top.  That’s the title track from the duo of Unit 4’s Ralf Beck and Sebastian Lee Phillipp. It’s not quite as epic as it sounds, but is still worth checking out, and manages to encapsulate that new wave spirit of Berlin in 1981. Indeed, the band’s title is derived from the DAF track of the same name. Amontillado continue to spit out some really interesting records, and this is one of the better releases from them.
