RECORDS OF THE WEEK - JANUARY 17th
It’s back to the grind for 2009, but during the Xmas and New Year break some rather wonderful records popped up. I’ve actually chosen two for this week’s selection, but both come from the Dissident label, which is churning out a number of excellent releases on a very steady basis. Brassica’s “Illness from Awareness” is a techno record that reminds you of how the genre should sound in 2009, and Photonz’s “No Fear” is Nu Groove vs Detroit vs The Hague plus some other stuff. Great records and very limited, so get on them asap. They edge out the Nacho Patrol release, which deserves equal footing, and the Wireman record on Prime Numbers. Check out the Michael Rother material on 17 Germany as well.
