Well done Corsica Studios!

When the phrase “DJ Mag Awards” comes up, one rather expects its readership to once again award the likes of Herman Cattenip or Armin Van Rabbitburrow the chance to headline another tasteless ceremony of industry backslapping.

But for once, they’ve sprung a surprise, voting Corsica Studios as Best Small Club in Britain. This is a deserved award for owners Adrian and Amanda at a place we now like to think of as our home. They’ve managed to create a wonderful venue in an unfashionable area, and have installed one of the finest soundsystems in the country, making it a paradise for those into underground electronic music. It shows that you don’t have to negotiate the tourist-infested warrens of Fabric or Matter to hear some of the cream of the crop. We’ll be raising our glasses to them next Friday. Jolly good show chaps!
