Rude 66 - As - (Crème Organization)
One of the true veterans of Bunker Records, Ruud Lekx’s releases in recent years have slowly but surely veered away from savage electro to a more refined synthpop. Last year’s “1000 year Storm” and his recent remix of Swedish italo siren Sally Shapiro confirmed a sweeting of touch. This is a return to darker, more uncertain territory, a pulsing bassline pierced with murky vocals and sharp synths. The real deal however is the outstanding remix on the flip by up and coming Gallic electro star Nicolas Courtin, who delivers a beautifully crystalline reworking replete with choirs and lush melodies. His album “Les Yeux Ferme” on Cielsonore last year was sadly overlooked.
